Advertising Rules & Marketplace Terms
These rules are designed to keep TouringCaravansForSale.co.uk useful, straightforward and safer for buyers, private sellers, dealers and businesses.
Core Advertising Rules
By submitting an advert, sellers are expected to follow these basic standards.
You Must Have the Right to Advertise the Item
Do not advertise stolen goods, items belonging to another person without authority, or anything you are not legally entitled to offer for sale.
Descriptions Must Be Accurate
Make, model, age, condition, specification, location, price and other important details should be presented honestly. Known major faults should not deliberately be concealed.
Use Genuine Photographs
Wherever practical, photographs should show the actual item being sold and its current condition. Do not copy another seller's photographs without permission.
Advertise the Real Asking Price
Do not use misleading prices merely to attract enquiries. If the price changes materially, update the advert.
Provide Genuine Contact Information
Contact details supplied for an advert must belong to, or be authorised by, the person or business advertising.
Tell Us When the Item Is Sold
Sellers should update or close adverts when an item is no longer available so buyers are not unnecessarily contacting them.
Private & Trade Sellers
The marketplace welcomes both, but they should not be confused with one another.
Private Seller
A genuine private seller normally advertises their own personal item rather than regularly selling as part of a business. Do not describe yourself as private if you are actually trading.
Trade Seller
Dealers and businesses are welcome to advertise. Trade sellers should identify themselves accurately and comply with the legal obligations that apply to their business and customers.
What Can Be Advertised?
The current marketplace is intentionally focused on eight main areas.
Listings We May Refuse or Remove
- Stolen goods or items suspected of being stolen.
- Fraudulent, deceptive or deliberately misleading adverts.
- Adverts using copied photographs or descriptions without permission.
- Items that the advertiser does not have authority to sell.
- False private-seller adverts being used to conceal trade activity.
- Clearly incorrect or misleading prices.
- Duplicate or excessive repeat adverts.
- Adverts containing abusive, discriminatory or threatening material.
- Illegal goods or services.
- Items substantially outside the purpose of the marketplace.
- Adverts that appear to present a safety, fraud or legal concern.
Seller Responsibility
Advert Review & Removal
We reserve the right to review, edit, refuse, suspend or remove adverts where reasonably necessary to protect the marketplace or enforce these rules.
This may include adverts that are reported by users or appear misleading, fraudulent, inappropriate, duplicated or substantially inaccurate.
- We may ask an advertiser for additional information.
- We may correct obvious formatting or presentation problems.
- We may move an advert to a more appropriate marketplace section.
- We may remove adverts that breach these rules.
- Serious suspected fraud or unlawful activity may be reported to appropriate authorities.
Advertising Fees
Marketplace Adverts
Private marketplace advertising currently starts from £5.99. The price and features shown at the point an advert is purchased will apply to that order.
Business & Dealer Advertising
Separate fees may apply to business adverts, dealer directory listings, featured promotion and other commercial advertising options.
We Are an Advertising Marketplace
TouringCaravansForSale.co.uk provides advertising space that allows buyers and sellers to find and contact one another.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not own the advertised items, inspect them before sale, act as the seller, hold buyer funds, provide escrow or guarantee that an advertiser or item is genuine.
Buyers should carry out their own checks before purchasing, particularly when dealing with high-value caravans, vehicles, mobile homes or land.
Payments, Deposits & Collection
Buyer/Seller Payments
Payments for advertised items are normally arranged directly between the buyer and seller. TouringCaravansForSale.co.uk does not normally receive or hold purchase money for advertised items.
Deposits
Buyers and sellers are responsible for deciding whether a deposit is appropriate and recording clearly what has been agreed. Never assume that the website guarantees or protects a private deposit.
Collection & Transport
Arrangements for collection, towing, delivery or specialist transport should be agreed between the parties involved.
Photographs & Advert Content
By submitting photographs, descriptions or other advert material, you confirm that you have the right to use that material and give TouringCaravansForSale.co.uk permission to display it as part of your listing and relevant promotion of that listing.
This can include reasonable promotion of the advert through our own website pages and associated marketplace communities.
